How to make an American visa (B2)
4 an easy way u can prepare all the document needed n go to Sabang Business Center SBC in jl. H. Agus Salim No.25 Jak-pus tlp: (021)315 2989, they can help u fiil on the DS-160 n print it out correctly, but u have to be next to them to help ansewar all the question (it cost bout rp 55.000). than u can go to permata bank at the Djakarta theatre next to starbuck 2 paid visa fee. Sms or call the Sabang usiness Center to tell the slip no, so they can make an online interview appointment the next day n they’ll email the u the congrats intview app page so u can print it out at home (remember the print out barcode have to be clear so it can be scan)
at first im a bit confused bot how to make my american visa, more like i dont know what the step by step things that i have to do.
but than i made it, actually its very simple, but t since u have to read the web with so many instruction for so many different kind of visa application, its reallt takes time to understand,
well ill tell u what ive been truoght b4 i got my visa.
1. my type of visa is B2, its for pleasure n business kinda of trip (since my real purpose Is 4 having a nuyear holiday from 20 dec 2011-11 jan 2012)
2. u hav to go to https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ to complete the NIV (non immigrant visas) application
a. – select the country where u from, thn choose (im from indonesia,jakarta)
-select the language you want to use to fill the application, thn choose (im using
english)
– click start application
b. now u r in a getting started page
– click the test photo, thn choose file n upload ur foto (choose a JPEG format image (i.e., .jpg file type) that is 240 KB or less in file size)
– than click upload the selected photo
– when the photo successfully uploaded u can click continue using this photo
– click start a new application
– record your application ID eq: AA001XR02X (write it down incase something interrupted in the middle of ur work u don’t have to start all over again)
– choose ur security question and fill the answer than click continue
– ull be in page personal information 1,personal information 2, address and phone information, passport information, travel information, travel companion information, previous US travel information, US point of contact information, family information, work/education/training information, security and background information. Fill n answer every question detail.
c. Print, importantly print the last page tht include your foto n barcode of DS-169 confirmation number (make sure your print out barcode can be scan), for savety n your documentation u can print all yhe application.
3. paid yhe visa fee. U have to go to the authorize bank to pay visa fee (only available at permata or standard chartered bank and in a selected location). Me, I paid in permata bank across sarinah, next to star bucks.
Just go inside the bank n ask for visa America fee slip, fill your name, passport no n type of visa tht u apply, im my case B2 (businesss n pleasure visa) I paid rp !.260.000 (on oct 11).
The teller will give u the green slip, u have to keep it n use the Id no to make an appointment online
As I know b4 feb 11 u can still paid visa fee at the embassy, so u can make an interview appointment without ID no, but now only after u paid n get the ID no u can make an online interview appointment.
U have 2 wait to the next office hour day b4 u can make an online interview appointment.
4. make an online interview appointment.
Things u need to prepare n bring when u came to the US embassy for interview
- the print out of appointment confirmation thet included the barcode of DS-160 confirmation number and UID. (the print out must be clear so the barcode can be scan by the staff there)
- the print out of your online nonimmigrant visa application (DS-160).
Just the last pege that included your photo, barcode, and confirmation number (eq AA001WFTSL). (also have to be clear so the barcode can be scan)
(I print out all the application, just in case I ll need it, but it not use)
- one color photo 5x5cm with white background. (u must make this photo in a photo studio that professional in making US visa photo) my suggestion u can go to Sabang Business Center SBC in jl. H. Agus Salim No.25 Jak-pus tlp: (021)315 2989, u can also be helped to fill in the application by only rp55000, theres a photo studio near by n u can pay the fee at permata bank not far from there.
- Bring all your real passport.(better if u got a lots of visa from ther country such as Europe for your reference)
- Bring n print your bank account, make a bank reference tht include your amount balance, they really want to know that u r rich J
- Copy of your birth sertificate, KK, KTP (in my case they don’t see it, but ill bring it anyway)
- Invitation from frien or company or whatever that stays in America tht can guarantee. (I hav an invitation from my friend, since I already included it in my DS-160 application they didn’t see my print out invitetion)
- Sponsor letter from your work company. (they don’t see mine,also bcoz its all already asked in DS-160, writing down your salary helps a lot)
- Airplane ticket booking, just book ur ticket n print it out, don’t issued it, u need it just to make them sure ull go (bit they don’t see mine)
10. Deposit slip from the bank where u paid the visa fee, I paid it at permata bank than I got a green copy slip, I paid rp 1.260.000 (theres a slip no tht u have to put in on line to make ur interview appointment)
Step by step u will do at the US ambessy
u can only chooce 7am-9am interview appointment for B2 visa type, so whenever time u choose, it will be save if u just arrived at the embasy ai 630am.
– U will queuing all the time. First under the bridge about 100m from the embassy gate, ull wait there so the sailor applican can que first.
– After that u can move to que at the embassy gate, they’ll check ur interview schedule n passport.
– Than que again to the metal detector security, hp n all electronic device have to remind off and give to be saved by the security (they’ll give u card no to take all ur belonging after get out from the embassy)
– queuing to the locket tht will scan ur interview appointment schedule n DS-160 n UID no, check ur photo, take ur passport, n your visa payament green slip. Then they’ll give u row interview locket no card.
– waiting for ur row no card to be called, u can buy breakfast while u wait (since no food allowed from outside)
– after ur card no being called, u can go inside to have all u finger print, than wait again for the interview.
– the interview can take around 4-10minutes, they can ask everything they want, so u have to answer n have ur document ready
– they let u know rite away afterthat which is u get ur passport or not, or have to be wait 4 further followup. In my case they approved mine, so they give me a copy show where I can get my passport at fedex rpx Jakarta.
– now u can go out, yake ur belonging, n go home. The passport can be taken after 3 days of office hour at fedex rpx address tht u already choose when u make an online interview appointment.
